I've been attending the MSU Land Policy Institute programs on the New Economy in Michigan as well as the Oakland County OakGreen programs.  There are a lot of communities looking for a new direction and limitied resources, so they think, to do anything.  This is the transition that Michigan is going through and is not always in a direction some of us think is sustainable.  Higher taxes and increased government spending to stimulate the economy cannot go on indefinitely.  So how about a discussion on a better transition than just trying to do what we did before?  I think there are people looking for a better solution.

I'm open to ideas and programs on just about anything and have several possible pilot projects in teh area if anyone is interested.
